My stage name is ‘bastrad’; it came about at a time when I was restoring old, forgotten bicycles, known as ‘bastards’. The bicycles have long since found new owners, but the name has stuck.

I came across the name ‘Allerhandmann’ in a novel by Knut Hamsun and thought, ‘That’s me – I can do everything, but I’m a master of nothing.’ I thought it was a good name that sums up everything I do. That’s why the site is called that.
